Why do Red Hawk's Custom Barreled Actions cost more than other competitors?
Not a Pre-fit Barrel! Each barreled action is manually spun and hand fitted to plus or minus one ten thousandth for meticulous precision and accuracy. Each barreled action from our custom collection guarantees correct breech, headspace, and functionality. This is a completely custom chambered barreled action.
Accuracy Guarantee Each barreled action will hold Viking Armaments sub ½ MOA guarantee. We do not ship the barreled action if it does not meet our accuracy guarantee. Period. Keep in mind, this accuracy guarantee is reflected when the complete rifle is properly and professionally assembled. Certain fitments and tolerances involving the stock/chassis, bedding, bottom metal, and other components can affect accuracy. Certain ammunition and hand loads can also affect accuracy if not loaded properly.
THE ORDERING PROCESS
We keep it super simple. Simply select your options, add it to your cart, and checkout. We will then email you a build sheet to verify your options, and that's it. The masters at Viking spin up your barreled action and we ship it to your FFL of choice when it's done. The hardest part of the process will be deciding what stock and accessories you want to complete your build (of course, our experts can help you decide if you run into any questions).

Specifications
BARREL: BARTLEIN CARBON FIBER BARREL
- 5R Single Point Cut rifling
- Match Grade Stainless Steel Core
- Carbon fiber resin tested stable at over 500 degrees F
- Industry Experts - Bartlein is always looking to expand their knowledge in the firearms field and improve firearms that are being designed and existing models. Everything from hand guns, bolt action hunting rifles, competition rifles and even machine guns. Their desire is to make the best and be the best.
- Unparalleled Precision - The uniformity in Bartlein's barrels and finish of the bores is second to none. Their rifling machines are so accurate, they can carry the twist rate to the 4th decimal point (example: 11.3642). The process of Single Point Cut Rifling is the most stress free way to rifle a barrel. The twist is exact, where as, other forms of rifling can have variances due to the process they use. Also, the bore and groove dimensions are more uniform.
- Top Quality - Bartlein pre-laps their barrels before rifling and finish lap the barrel after rifling. There is no need or under any circumstances, should you fire lap or do any other sort of bore polishing to the barrel. Contrary to what others say, a lapped barrel will not wear out earlier vs. an unlapped one. Bartlein barrels will typically last longer than a button barrel, etc.
BRAKE:
- Includes a Meraki Machine M1 3 port muzzle brake
THE OPTIONS
CALIBER: We list most of the most popular calibers and standard twist rates for them. If you need a different caliber or twist rate, select 'other' and we can definitely accommodate that.
BARREL OPTIONS: The most popular option is the #14 M24/M40 contour. It adds extra rigidity and better heat dissipation while only adding about 4 ounces. This barrel contour will drop into most of modern rifle stocks and chassis no problem, but there is a chance that it may be a little to big for some barrel channels. The #13 Varmint/Sendero contour, while not as popular anymore will drop into any stock with a Varmint style barrel channel.
BARREL LENGTH: This can get pretty technical depending on what caliber you are shooting. Generally anything 22"-26" is pretty standard. If you plan on running a suppressor, we recommend going shorter at 20"-22", but if you are just going to use the muzzle brake only, then 24"-26" is your golden range. Please note: Barrel lengths longer than 26" may increase lead time.
COLOR: The next option is going to be your color. All colors are Cerakote ceramic firearms finishes and will handle any abuse you throw at it. Ultimately it will come down to your personal preference. Black is always a good go-to and matches everything. If you would like to choose a custom cerakote color, please input it into the color box when ordering. Camo patterns are available for an upcharge.
