Overview
The MDT HNT26 is the first chassis system designed specifically for hunting. Built on a lightweight magnesium alloy base with carbon fiber fore end, grip, and foam-filled buttstock, it weighs between 26 and 31 ounces depending on configuration. The folding buttstock folds for compact storage while the v-block bedding system keeps your barrel float for repeatable accuracy.
Starting at 26 oz for the complete system (chassis, buttstock, fore end and grip combined), this is purpose-built for hunters who pack their rifle in a backpack or saddle bag.
The chassis is machined from AZ61A magnesium alloy. The fore end, grip and buttstock are carbon fiber, giving the whole system a warm-to-touch feel and reducing snag points in brush and timber.
This variant includes a foam-filled carbon fiber buttstock that folds for compact storage. Folds down to roughly half height when not in use.
Precision v-block interface keys your action for repeatable accuracy. Your barrel floats free of the fore end, letting you glass and dial without disturbing zero.
The low-profile magazine latch integrates into the trigger guard. Works with any AICS pattern magazine in the Short Action length.

Magazine pattern match your action length. This Short Action variant accepts AICS Short Action length magazines only. Do not order this variant for long action rifles. Chassis ship oversized and do not qualify for free shipping.
Detail
Standard fore end (this variant) provides carbon fiber construction with M-LOK slots for mounting sling swivels and light accessories. ARCA Rail fore end replaces the tip with a full-length ARCA interface for quick-release picatinny clamps and accessories. Choose Standard for minimalist hunting setups. Choose ARCA Rail if you frequently change between tripods, shooting bags, or other ARCA-equipped gear.
The LOP minimum is 12.5 inches and adjusts upward using the included spacer system. The cheek riser is vertically adjustable with a soft touch foam pad. Both adjustments are made by adding shims and moving the comb up and down the buttstock interface. Your action type (Short Action) pairs with the included buttstock.
This Short Action variant accepts AICS pattern magazines in the Short Action length only. A separate Long Action variant exists for long-action cartridges. Magazines are sold separately.
The folding buttstock collapses down to approximately half height when not in use, making the system more compact for packing in backpacks, scabbards, or vehicle storage. The cheek riser and LOP adjustment still work when deployed. Fold it by lifting and rotating the buttstock assembly back along the receiver.
