Overview
The Bartlein .30 caliber carbon fiber barrel blank is a 5R cut-rifled stainless steel core wrapped in carbon fiber, sold unchambered for a gunsmith to fit. It comes in the #13 Varmint/Sendero and #14 M24/M40 contours, 1:8, 1:9 and 1:10 twists, and 18 to 26 inch finish lengths. Other contours are available to order.
Five lands with a gentler side angle than conventional rifling, and an odd count so no land sits directly opposite another. Bartlein's testing puts the BC loss from jacket deformation up to 5% lower, and cut rifling puts no stress into the blank.
A full-length stainless steel liner carries the rifling, with 2.75" of bare steel at the breech before the carbon wrap begins. The resin has been tested stable past 500 degrees F.
#13 Varmint/Sendero steps from a 1.200" breech to .950" and tapers to an .830" muzzle at 26", 3.05 to 3.6 lb by length. #14 M24/M40 tapers straight to a .900" muzzle, 3.35 to 4.05 lb. Every .30 cal carbon blank now carries Bartlein's heavy pattern liner, about 4 oz on top of those figures.
1:8, 1:9 or 1:10 twist, in 18, 20, 22, 24 and 26 inch finish lengths. Each blank ships 1" over its finish length so your gunsmith can cut and crown the muzzle.
Bartlein's guideline for suppressor use is a .700" minimum muzzle diameter. Both contours clear it, .830" on the #13 and .900" on the #14.

Fitment
This is a blank, not a finished barrel. It must be chambered, threaded, crowned and installed by a qualified gunsmith, and the finish length you choose is the length after the extra 1" is cut from the muzzle. Rifle barrels ship for a flat $14.95 per order, any quantity, and do not qualify for free shipping.
Detail
Both start at a 1.200" breech with 2.75" of exposed steel. The #13 Varmint/Sendero steps down to .950" at 4.350" from the breech and then tapers to an .830" muzzle at 26", so it is the lighter of the two at 3.05 to 3.6 lb before the liner. The #14 M24/M40 runs a single straight taper to a .900" muzzle at 26" and weighs 3.35 to 4.05 lb, about 0.3 to 0.45 lb more at the same length. Bartlein's guidance is that a heavier contour resists movement as the barrel heats. Both muzzles are above the .700" Bartlein likes to see under a suppressor. Other contours, including the 1.250" breech versions Bartlein recommends for magnums, are available to order.
No. Bartlein sells blanks only, no pre-fits and no gas-gun barrels. Your gunsmith chambers, threads, crowns and installs it. Every blank is 1" longer than the finish length you order: Bartlein hand laps each cut-rifled barrel, which can bell-mouth the muzzle, so at least 1.0" must come off the muzzle end. Chambering removes the same effect at the breech.
The weights in the spec sheet are Bartlein's published carbon fiber blank weights by contour and length; Bartlein states the difference between calibers is negligible. Since 1 October 2025 Bartlein fits a heavy pattern liner to every 7mm and .30 cal carbon fiber barrel, which adds approximately 4 oz to those figures. No weight is published for the 18" finish length.
Neither Bartlein nor we publish a cartridge-to-twist chart for these blanks. Order the twist the bullet maker lists for the bullets you plan to shoot: 1:8 is the fastest of the three and 1:10 the slowest, and all three are twists Bartlein runs in its own stock .308 carbon fiber blanks.
