Impact Precision - Premium Bolt Actions
Posted by Red Hawk Rifles on Jul 20th 2024
Today’s brand highlight is Impact Precision. Impact precision is one of the most popular action suppliers in the bolt action market. They are known for their quality and attention to detail. This results in very smooth and repeatable actions.
We are going to look at three of their actions that we offer to see what features each has. These will be the 737R, the NBK, and the 777R actions
Impact Precision Actions
These three actions are compatible with the Remington 700 footprint in addition to R700 triggers. This makes them compatible with the most popular barrels, stocks, etc. They also feature an integral 20 MOA optics mount so you don’t have to worry about your long range scope being too low.
All three action bodies are machined from a single piece of material and nitrided to help with longevity. The bolts are also nitrided and come in a single piece design to ensure smooth operations. Each bolt is available in left or right hand configurations.
737R
This action features a full picatinny rail on the top of the receiver and the bolt features the standard fluting to prevent the bolt from gumming up from debris. This action works with most trigger and stock combinations but some will need to have slight modification to allow for the trigger hanger to fit (ex. KRG Chassis line).
This is a short action receiver, which means it predominantly uses shorter full power cartridges and intermediate cartridges. It is compatible with the AICS single stack magazine and the AW double stack magazine due to the AW cut that it has.

NBK
The NBK is based on the 737R’s performance. It shares the same short action design, AW magazine cut, and R700 compatibility. Where it differs is the optics mount. Instead of a single continuous mount, it is two smaller rail sections separated by an open space over the ejection port.
This helps lighten the action without fully removing the optics rail. It does cut down on the usable rail space. The NBK also has an aluminum shroud and bolt knob paired with the standard 737R body for greater weight reduction.

777R
The 777R is a long Remington action. This means it works with the larger cartridges, like your full powered magnums and .30-06 case lengths. This is one of Impact PRecision’s main receivers and it is the basis for their short action designs. The 777R is still machined from a single material piece and has a full optics rail integrally machined into the top.
It works with both BDL and DBM ammunition options which means you can either have an integral magazine or an external magazine depending on your ammunition choices. This is due to the Wyatt extended magazine cut. It will feed CIP length cartridges with this cut design.
