Compact satellite communicator for two-way messaging off the grid
The Garmin InReach Messenger is a compact satellite communicator that sends two-way text messages by satellite when you are outside cell coverage. It switches between your phone's cellular connection and the 100% global Iridium satellite network through the Garmin Messenger app, and the internal battery runs up to 28 days in 10 minute tracking mode. Messaging, interactive SOS and location sharing all require an active satellite subscription, sold as an annual package or a flexible month-to-month plan.

Does the InReach Messenger need a satellite subscription?
Yes, an active satellite subscription is required for two-way messaging, interactive SOS and location sharing. Choose an annual package or a flexible month-to-month plan. Check-in messages do not count toward your allotted text messages.
What happens if my phone battery dies in the field?
Connect a compatible smartphone to the inReach Messenger for a backup charge, enough to send one custom text message from the phone's touchscreen.
