Overview
M5 hinged floorplate for stocks that need BDL feeding
The Grayboe M5 Floorplate is a hinged bottom metal for Remington 700 pattern actions where the stock is inletted for M5. It is CNC machined from billet aluminum and anodized matte black, with the hatch release inside the trigger guard. The floorplate accepts standard BDL magazine internals, so you reuse your existing follower, spring and magazine box.
Uses your existing BDL internals
No new magazine box needed. Slide your follower and spring from your current BDL floorplate into this one. Simplifies setup and reduces cost.
Hinged floorplate design
Grayboe's reasons for building it: not all bullets and calibers feed well from AICS magazines, and a floorplate cannot be lost, dropped or rattle on a hunt. With a Grayboe M5 stock you can run this floorplate for hunting and swap back to the M5 DBM for the range.
Matte black anodized billet aluminum
CNC machined from billet aluminum and anodized matte black for wear resistance, with a rounded trigger guard and a flush hatch release inside it. Weights run 3 oz on short actions to 3.2 oz on long actions.
M5 inlet only
Grayboe says it fits all stocks inletted for an M5 bottom metal; in a stock cut for any other bottom metal it will not drop in and may need fitting if the stock is not a Grayboe.

Your stock must be inletted for an M5 bottom metal. Grayboe says a stock cut for any other bottom metal will not take it as a drop-in and may need fitting if it is not a Grayboe. You reuse your existing BDL magazine box, follower and spring.

What is the difference between the M5 Floorplate and the M5 DBM?
The M5 Floorplate is a hinged bottom metal that uses your existing BDL magazine internals (box, follower, spring). The M5 DBM is a detachable bottom metal that accepts AICS magazines. Choose the floorplate if your ammunition feeds better from a hinged design or if you want to reuse existing magazine internals. Choose the DBM if you want the flexibility of detachable magazines.
How do I know if my stock has an M5 inlet?
Grayboe is converting all of its stocks to the M5 inlet, and each Grayboe stock listing states the bottom metal it is cut for. A factory Remington stock is cut for the Remington floorplate, not M5.
How do I transfer my BDL internals to this floorplate?
Slide the follower and spring out of your current BDL floorplate and into the hatch of the M5 floorplate; the BDL magazine box is reused as well. New action screws are included.
