One piece steel base with a built in 40 MOA taper for the Rem 700 short action
The Nightforce X-Treme Duty base is a one piece steel scope base built for the Remington 700 short action, with a 40 MOA taper machined into the base itself. An integral recoil lug on the underside beds against the receiver, and the base is machined to exact Mil. Std. 1913 rail dimensions.
40 MOA taper
The taper is machined directly into this one piece steel base, built specifically for the Remington 700 short action.

Machined to exact Mil. Std. 1913 specification for a standard Picatinny fit with standard rings.
Integral recoil lug
Machined into the bottom of the base, the lug beds against the receiver so the base does not move and the mounting screws are not left carrying recoil stress.
