Snowy Mountain Rifles' stainless steel pre-fit barrels are chambered and threaded 5/8 x 24, ready to install on your action with a barrel vise and gauges. The barrel arrives from SMR's Montana shop tested through their BEAR process for consistent headspace and tight bore concentricity. Choose your caliber, action type and contour from the options, and you have the foundation for a precise rifle.
Precision machined stainless steel, shouldered and threaded 5/8 x 24, inspected through SMR's B.E.A.R. process.
Snowy Mountain's proprietary Barrel Examination Axis Review checks every barrel for bore indication and chamber concentricity. The bore is already where it should be when it arrives.
Chambered and threaded for your action. No barrel nut, no separate headspace setup. Install is wrench and torque, not a full barrel job.

Select the barrel cut for your action type. Each variant is cut and headspaced for one action only. A Defiance barrel will not fit an Impact action, and an Aero Solus barrel will not fit either. Read the option names carefully before ordering. Shipping: rifle barrels ship for a flat $14.95 per order, regardless of quantity.
Detail
A pre-fit barrel is chambered and threaded, ready to screw onto your action. Unlike a barrel blank, it arrives with the chamber cut and the shoulder already formed. You still headspace it with your gauges before firing, and you still remove the action from your stock to install it. The difference is that a gunsmith normally reams the chamber and cuts the shoulder; with a pre-fit, that work is done.
You need a barrel vise, an action wrench, a torque wrench, and headspace gauges. Snowy Mountain uses JGS headspace gauges and recommends them for final verification. Torque the barrel to 85 to 105 ft-lbs. If you do not have the tools or are not comfortable with the process, your local gunsmith has them and knows the steps.
Choose the exact action you own. Each barrel in this product is cut for one action type only: Defiance Machine (includes Anti, Anti-X, and Ruckus variants with recessed bolt nose only), Impact Precision, or Aero Solus. A barrel cut for Defiance will not fit an Impact, and vice versa. Read the option carefully and confirm it matches your action before ordering.
BEAR is Snowy Mountain's proprietary Barrel Examination Axis Review process. The machinists check each barrel's bore for indication (runout) and chamber concentricity. Every barrel leaves their shop only after passing this test. SMR says no barrel leaves the facility before passing BEAR.
