Ultra-lightweight magnesium Remington 700 chassis at 16 oz

The XLR Industries Element 4.0 Magnesium is an ultra-lightweight modular hunting chassis for Remington 700 short and long actions. Machined from AZ61A Magnesium, the chassis weighs 16 oz and reaches 28 oz when paired with a carbon fiber buttstock and grip. It features an integrated AICS detachable box magazine system, a 1.5 inch Arca-Swiss rail in the forend, and a built-in bubble level. Order by action length, and note that buttstock, grip and magazines are sold separately.

16 oz bare chassis

Machined from AZ61A Magnesium and configured with carbon fiber buttstock and grip, the system weighs 28 oz. This is the first rifle chassis system in the world to weigh under 2 lbs in a complete configuration.

Integrated AICS DBM system

The chassis includes an integrated detachable box magazine system that accepts AICS pattern magazines. Magazines are sold separately.

1.5 inch Arca-Swiss rail in the forend

RRS-compatible 1.5 inch dovetail machined into the forend allows quick-release scope mounting and accessory rails.

Multi-point radial cut inlet

The inlet is cut with XLR's multi-point radial design, so no V-block or glass bedding is required. Bedding is not necessary.

M-LOK compatible

The chassis accepts M-LOK accessories on the sides and bottom for accessories, tactical rails and bipod mounts.

Bubble level integrated

A built-in bubble level is machined into the chassis to ensure a level platform when setting up.

Long Action CIP accepts magazines up to 3.850 inch length. Magpul PRS and similar buttstocks with molded-in anti-rotation dowels may require modification to fit. Chassis are oversized and do not qualify for free shipping.

Fitting it and the fine print

Do I need to glass bed the chassis?

No. The Element 4.0 Magnesium features XLR's multi-point radial cut inlet design, which eliminates the need for V-block or glass bedding. The chassis is ready to drop an action in place.

Which action length do I order, short action or long action CIP?

Order Short Action for Remington 700 short action receivers. Order Long Action CIP (3.850 inch Magazine Length) for Remington 700 long action receivers or long action clones. The CIP designation refers to the maximum AICS magazine length this inlet accepts.

What buttstocks and grips will fit?

The chassis accepts AR style flat top grips and AR style buttstocks. Some buttstocks with molded-in anti-rotation dowels, such as the Magpul PRS, may require modification to fit. Buttstocks, grips and magazines are sold separately and not included with the chassis.

What is the final weight of a complete setup?

The bare chassis weighs 16 oz. A complete system with carbon fiber buttstock and carbon fiber grip weighs 28 oz. Your final weight depends on your choice of buttstock and grip. The XLR Industries website offers a weight calculator tool to help you configure your setup.
