Interchangeable bolt head action with multiple caliber options built on Rem 700 footprint

The Aero Precision SOLUS Action is a Remington 700 footprint receiver, offered short or long. It has a 3-lug interchangeable bolt head, an integral 20 MOA rail and recoil lug, and a 60-degree bolt throw.

Interchangeable 3-lug bolt head

Swap bolt heads between .382 small, .455 PPC, .478 standard and .540 magnum sizes.

Remington 700 footprint

Aero lists the footprint as Remington 700, short or long action, with the trigger installed via a hanger (Remington 700 pattern, no bolt release).

Integral 20 MOA top rail

An integral 1913 rail with 20 MOA bias, per Aero.

60-degree bolt throw

Aero lists a 60-degree bolt throw with a fluted bolt body, dual ejectors and a cock-on-lift design.

Savage pre-fit barrel compatibility

Aero lists compatibility with Savage small shank barrels with a barrel nut and shouldered Zermatt Origin pattern pre-fit barrels.

CMM-inspected tolerances

Each action is measured by coordinate measuring machine to ensure consistent precision. 416 stainless steel receiver and 17-4 bolt resist corrosion and stress.

Which bolt face size should I order?

  • .382 small: .223 Wylde, 5.56 NATO, .300 Blackout
  • .455 PPC: 6.5 Grendel, 22/6mm, 338 ARC
  • .478 standard: 6mm, 6.5 Creedmoor, .243 Win, .308 Win, 8.6 Blackout
  • .540 magnum: 6.5 PRC, 7mm SAUM, 7mm WSM, 300 WSM

Do I need a custom gunsmith to install a barrel?

Aero lists compatibility with Savage small shank barrels with a barrel nut and shouldered Zermatt Origin pattern pre-fit barrels. Any other barrel is gunsmith work.

Can I change bolt faces between cartridges?

Yes. The 3-lug interchangeable bolt head allows you to swap bolt heads to match your cartridge family. You can move from .223 (.382 head) to 6.5 Creedmoor (.478 head) to 6.5 PRC (.540 head) on the same action body. You will still need a compatible barrel for each cartridge.

Which magazines will this action feed?

AICS and AIAW pattern detachable box magazines. The action is cut for both patterns, and the magazine choice depends on your cartridge and build.
