Overview

FDE-coated short action receiver with interchangeable bolt heads on Rem 700 footprint

The Aero Precision SOLUS Action in FDE PVD is a Remington 700 short action receiver with a 3-lug interchangeable bolt head, an integral 20 MOA rail and recoil lug, and a 60-degree bolt throw. FDE PVD coating resists corrosion and fingerprints.

Interchangeable 3-lug bolt head

Swap bolt heads between .382 small, .478 standard and .540 magnum sizes without tools or gunsmith work.

FDE PVD finish

Flat Dark Earth PVD coating on the receiver body with Nitride bolt finish. PVD is durable against scratches and does not require constant maintenance.

Remington 700 footprint

Short action receiver compatible with Remington 700 stocks and chassis. Trigger installed via a hanger (Remington 700 pattern, no bolt release).

Integral 20 MOA top rail

An integral 1913 rail with 20 MOA bias for precision scope mounting.

60-degree bolt throw

Quick-cycling action with dual ejectors and a cock-on-lift design.

Savage pre-fit barrel compatibility

Works with Savage small shank barrels with a barrel nut and shouldered Zermatt Origin pattern pre-fit barrels.

Which bolt face sizes are offered?

  • .382 small: .223 Wylde, 5.56 NATO, .300 Blackout
  • .478 standard: 6mm, 6.5 Creedmoor, .243 Win, .308 Win, 8.6 Blackout
  • .540 magnum: 6.5 PRC, 7mm SAUM, 7mm WSM, 300 WSM

Do I need a custom gunsmith to install a barrel?

Aero lists compatibility with Savage small shank barrels with a barrel nut and shouldered Zermatt Origin pattern pre-fit barrels. Any other barrel is gunsmith work.

Can I change bolt faces between cartridges?

Yes. The 3-lug interchangeable bolt head allows you to swap bolt heads to match your cartridge family. You will still need a compatible barrel for each cartridge.

Which magazines will this action feed?

AICS and AIAW pattern detachable box magazines. The action is cut for both patterns, and the magazine choice depends on your cartridge and build.
