The AG Composites Adjustable Alpine Hunter is a carbon fiber stock for Remington 700 hunters who need adjustable comb height for optics and position. It is inletted for Rem 700 and common clones such as Defiance, Kelbly, Stiller and Lone Peak actions, and it ships ready to shoot with no bedding required. The adjustable cheek rest allows you to dial in the perfect sight picture for your rifle and setup.

40 ounces average weight

Carbon fiber construction delivers significant weight savings compared to traditional wood or fiberglass stocks. The adjustable comb adds approximately 9 ounces compared to the fixed-comb Alpine Hunter, critical for hunters who need elevation control and are willing to accept the minor weight penalty.

Adjustable cheek rest

Comb height adjusts to match your optics and shooting position without removing the stock or adjusting the rifle. Lock in the perfect sight picture and repeatable head position for consistent accuracy across different rifles and setups.

100% carbon fiber construction

Cured to 250 degrees Fahrenheit for maximum rigidity and durability. No bedding required; customers report 1/2 MOA accuracy or better out of the box.

Aluminum block inside the forend

Extends from the tip to 1 inch in front of the recoil lug. Can be drilled and tapped for custom rails or without additional modifications.

CNC machined action area and barrel channel

Precise fit for Rem 700 and clones. Action area and barrel channel are machined to exacting tolerances, eliminating fit uncertainty and guesswork.

Which bottom metal inlet do I need?

Choose short action (SA) M5 for Rem 700 short actions and short-action clones. Choose long action (LA) M5 for Rem 700 long action and long-action clones such as Defiance XM+, Stiller TAC or Lone Peak. The inlet cannot be changed after production; order the size that matches your action.

How does the adjustable cheek rest compare to the fixed-comb Alpine Hunter?

The Adjustable Alpine Hunter includes a comb that changes height to match your scope and shooting position, allowing you to dial in your sight picture without removing the stock. The fixed-comb Alpine Hunter (product 6957) weighs 31 ounces; the adjustable comb adds about 9 ounces (40 oz average) for the adjustment hardware and locking mechanism. Choose fixed if you have a single rifle with a fixed setup; choose adjustable if you want to use the stock on multiple rifles or scope heights, or if you prefer to dial in the perfect head position.

What barrels fit the Sendero barrel channel?

The forend is cut for Varmint and Sendero contour barrels up to the #13 specification (Proof Sendero, M24, Bartlein #13). Verify your barrel maker and profile against this standard. A barrel significantly heavier than #13 contour will require custom channel work and may not be advisable on a finished composite stock.
