Overview
This stainless Bartlein blank has 5R rifling and ships 1 inch longer so the gunsmith can cut off the bell mouth from hand-lapping and crown it. The bore is .330 x .338, and the blank requires chambering, threading, crowning, and installation by a certified gunsmith.
Bartlein's 5R has five lands, so no land sits directly opposite another, and Bartlein says the land shape is easier on the bullet jacket.
Bartlein single-point cuts each rifled barrel and hand-laps the bore. This process can leave a bell mouth at the muzzle, so the blank ships 1 inch longer; the gunsmith removes this during the cut-off.
Choose the number 9 Heavy Varmint or number 13 Varmint/Sendero contour in 26, 28, or 30 inch finished lengths. All options share the 1 to 9.35 twist rate.
.338 Win Mag, .338 RUM, .338 Lapua, .340 Weatherby, and other .338-based cases fit the bore.

Must be gunsmithed. This is a barrel blank, not a finished barrel. It requires a certified gunsmith to chamber, thread, crown, and install the blank into your receiver. Bartlein recommends a minimum 1.0 inch cut from the muzzle to remove bell mouth from the hand-lapping process. Rifle barrels and barreled actions ship for a flat $14.95 per order, regardless of quantity; they do not qualify for free shipping.

Bartlein hand-laps the bore to precision, but the lapping process can leave a "bell mouth" shape at the muzzle. Your gunsmith will cut off a minimum 1.0 inch from the muzzle as part of the finishing work, which removes this bell mouth and ensures a clean crown.
