A .284 stainless steel barrel blank with 5R cut rifling, ready for your gunsmith
The Benchmark Barrels .284 stainless steel barrel blank is a blank for a gunsmith to chamber, thread and install. It comes in nine contours and 1:8 and 1:9 twist options, all at 26 inch finish length. Every Benchmark barrel is individually double hand lapped and double stress relieved.
5R rifling
Benchmark rifles these blanks with 5R rifling.
416R and 4140R steel
Benchmark uses 416R and 4140R steel. Each barrel is double stress relieved and inspected with Benchmark's own methods alongside standard industry techniques.
Nine contours, two twists
Choose from #3, #4, #5, #6, Remington Sendero, MTU, VCC, .9 inch straight, or 1.25 inch straight contours. All come in 1:8 or 1:9 twist, at 26 inch finish length.
Double hand lapped, stress relieved
Each blank is individually hand lapped to a consistent bore and double stress relieved. Quality control includes both proprietary and industry-standard inspection methods.

Order the twist your bullet maker recommends for the bullets you plan to shoot. Both twists are offered on every contour.
Which contour should I order?
Nine contours are offered: #3, #4, #5, #6, Remington Sendero, MTU, VCC, .9 inch straight and 1.25 inch straight, each in 1:8 or 1:9 twist at 26 inch finish length. Match the contour to the barrel channel of your stock or chassis.
