Wrist-mounted tactical GPS with MGRS support
The Garmin Foretrex 801 is a wrist-mounted tactical GPS with MGRS support and night vision compatibility for hands-free navigation. It runs up to 100 hours in GPS mode or up to 1000 hours in expedition mode on 2 field-replaceable AAA batteries. Stealth mode stops the unit from storing or sharing GPS data, and a kill switch erases the device memory; pairing it with a compatible inReach satellite communicator to view messages on screen needs an active satellite subscription on that paired device.

Does the Foretrex 801 have built-in satellite messaging?
No. The Foretrex 801 does not include a built-in satellite communicator. Pair it with a compatible Garmin inReach satellite communicator to view inReach messages directly on the Foretrex screen; that connection requires an active satellite subscription on the paired inReach device.
