Backcountry navigation with built-in satellite messaging
The Garmin Montana 700i is a touchscreen handheld GPS with built-in inReach satellite messaging and SOS for hunters who travel beyond cell coverage. It runs on a 5 inch touchscreen with preloaded TopoActive, City Navigator and federal public land maps, and the internal battery holds up to 18 hours in GPS mode or 330 hours in expedition mode. Two-way messaging, tracking and interactive SOS route over the 100% global Iridium satellite network and require an active satellite subscription.

Does inReach messaging require a subscription?
Yes. Two-way messaging, interactive SOS and inReach weather all run over the Iridium satellite network and require an active satellite subscription. BirdsEye Satellite Imagery downloads direct to the device with no subscription required.
What maps come preloaded?
TopoActive maps for the U.S. and Canada, City Navigator street maps for North America, and the Federal Public Lands Map for the U.S. Add BlueChart g3 charts or an Outdoor Maps+ subscription for more coverage.
