Overview
Flush-fit AICS bottom metal that looks like a floor plate
The Grayboe Hunter DBM is AICS magazine bottom metal designed to blend in on a hunting rifle. It is CNC machined from a single piece of billet 6061 aluminum, hard anodized for wear resistance, and fits M5 inlet stocks. The magazine release sits flush and out of sight inside the trigger guard so a loaded rifle carries and handles like traditional iron.
Hunting profile
Designed to look like a traditional floor plate instead of protruding like competition bottom metals, so it fits under a hand guard or flush-fitting stock the way a factory rifle does.
Flush magazine release
The release lever sits inside the trigger guard, snag-free and invisible until you need it. One rifle, hunting setup and target setup, no switching.
Billet 6061 aluminum
CNC machined from a single piece and hard anodized. No castings, no assemblies to work loose. Short action weighs 3.1 oz.
M5 inlet only
This is not a drop-in fit unless your stock is already inletted for M5 bottom metal. Standard Remington BDL inlets are too small.

Check your stock's magazine inlet before ordering. This bottom metal requires M5 inlet; it will not fit stocks cut for standard BDL (Remington 700 factory-style hinged floorplate) inlets. M5 is larger to clear the detachable magazine.

Fitting it and the fine print
Hunter DBM or standard DBM?
The Hunter DBM is designed for traditional hunting rifles where appearance and feel matter. It looks like a factory floor plate and carries and handles like one. The release is flush and out of sight inside the trigger guard. The standard M5 DBM has an ambidextrous release on the side of the trigger guard; it is heavier and more visible but lets you operate it fast from either side. Choose Hunter if you want your rifle to look stock; choose standard if you want speed or an XM action fit.
How do I know if my stock has an M5 inlet?
M5 inlets are larger than standard Remington BDL inlets because they have to clear a detachable magazine. If your stock is a factory Remington or designed to accept BDL bottom metal, it has a BDL inlet, not M5. Check the stock manufacturer's specification or contact them. Many Grayboe stocks are inletted for M5; the product page for each stock lists the magazine footprint.
