Overview
STANAG-spec precision rings with a built-in level and stepped base interface
MDT Elite Scope Rings are designed and manufactured to STANAG 4694 specification, also known as NATO spec. The rings clamp tight to the top of a scope base rail with pressure on the angled rail surfaces, guaranteeing a solid interface on both STANAG and MIL-STD-1913 spec rails. They are machined from billet 7075-T651 aluminum and come with a built-in bubble level on medium and high rings.
Billet 7075-T651 aluminum
Machined from billet 7075-T651 aluminum, one third the weight of steel with similar strength. MDT says the extra wide profile and extra thick clamp system will not bend, fatigue or become loose with use.
STANAG 4694 NATO specification
Designed to sit tight on the top of the scope base rail, applying pressure to the underside of the angled rail surfaces. This design works on both STANAG and MIL-STD-1913 spec rails.
Precision machined on high-end CNC
Machined on an automated seven-axis high-end CNC machine. The bottom rail interface is machined at the same time as the scope clamp interface, guaranteeing all rings are square and parallel.
CMM checked to 1.5 millionths precision
All rings are CMM checked to 1.5 millionths of an inch. Six oversized #8-32 Grade 8 fasteners clamp the scope, and the stepped base-to-cap interface allows adjustment in sequence.
Built-in bubble level
Medium and High rings come with a built-in bubble level. Low rings do not include a level.

What does STANAG 4694 spec mean?
STANAG 4694, also called NATO spec, describes how the ring clamps to a scope base rail. MDT Elite rings sit tight on the top of the rail and apply pressure to the underside of the angled rail surfaces. MDT Elite rings work on both STANAG and MIL-STD-1913 spec rails.
Which heights are available?
30 mm rings come in Low (0.82 inch), Medium (1.0 inch), and High (1.25 inch). 34 mm rings come in Medium (1.0 inch) and High (1.25 inch). Low rings do not include a bubble level. Medium and High rings do.
How tight is the CMM tolerance?
All Elite rings are CMM checked to 1.5 millionths of an inch. This is because the bottom rail interface is machined at the same time as the scope clamp interface on the same seven-axis CNC machine, guaranteeing all rings are square and parallel.
