M5 DBM bottom metal with ambidextrous magazine release

The Grayboe M5 DBM is AICS magazine bottom metal for Remington 700 pattern actions where the stock is inletted for M5. It is CNC machined from a single piece of billet 6061 aluminum and hard anodized for wear resistance, with an ambidextrous magazine release and a barricade stop machined into the magazine well.

Billet 6061 aluminum

CNC machined from a single piece and hard anodized. No castings, no assemblies to work loose. Weights run 4 oz on short actions to 6.5 oz on long actions.

Ambidextrous magazine release

The release is easy to operate from either side and sits close to the body, making it hard to catch by accident.

Barricade stop and drafted port

A stop machined into the front of the magazine well prevents the magazine from shifting under recoil. The drafted magazine port allows fast, smooth magazine changes.

M5 inlet only

This is not a drop-in fit unless your stock is already inletted for M5 bottom metal. Standard Remington BDL inlets are too small.

  • AICS pattern magazines

Will not work with

  • Standard Remington BDL inlet stocks (M5 inlet is larger)
  • Impact Medium or Defiance XM actions (Grayboe makes separate M5 units for those platforms)

Check your stock's magazine inlet before ordering. This bottom metal requires M5 inlet; it will not fit stocks cut for standard BDL (Remington 700 factory-style hinged floorplate) inlets. M5 is larger to clear the detachable magazine.

How do I know if my stock has an M5 inlet?

M5 inlets are larger than standard Remington BDL inlets because they have to clear a detachable magazine. If your stock is a factory Remington or designed to accept BDL bottom metal, it has a BDL inlet, not M5. Check the stock manufacturer's specification or contact them. Many Grayboe stocks are inletted for M5; the product page for each stock lists the magazine footprint.

Which weight option do I order?

Short action is 4 oz and fits short action Rem 700 and clones. Long action (3.715 in OAL) is 6.5 oz and fits long action and magnum long action Rem 700 and clones. Long action CIP (3.850 in OAL) is 5.8 oz and fits long action Rem 700 and clones where the stock is cut for the longer CIP magazine length (3.850 in outside length). The three sizes are not interchangeable.
