Love the looks and solid quality. But the pin holding the floor plate onto the trigger guard falls out freely and will not stay in. It must be installed into the recessed area for the pin to remain in place. When removed you must be careful not to lose it.

4 High Quality - Finish Scratches Easily

This is a precision machined and very high quality bottom metal - the best I've ever seen. It fits perfectly in my Grayboe stock and required absolutely no extra milling or fitting - like it was custom made for it with a nice tight seating. The anodized finish scratches very easily however. Just installing mine left a long scratch on the floor plate and one mark on the trigger guard too. Not sure how that's impossible on my nice clean bench but a little frustrating for a brand new custom build. It is an Oberndorf style BDL bottom metal so it will not, by design, sit flush like some original Rem 700 bottom metals. Other reviewers seem surprised or confused by this fact.

Good quality, latch super tight. Thickness of the bottom metal where the two bolts attach stock and action is alittle thicker so it not flush with stock! Factory bottom metal was!

I used this BDL Bottom Metal for a build on a H-S Precision stock and I had to do quite a bit of machining on the mill to get it to fit correctly.

One of the nicest of the aluminum BDL bottom metals. I like having the release button internal so branches will not trip it open. The only way to make it better would be to carve it out of billet aluminum.
