MDT 10-round magazines are approximately ¾” shorter in height than standard AICS 10-round magazines due to MDT’s unique Double Stack to Single Feed (DSSF) transition design, allowing easier mag changes when shooting prone.
10-round magazine includes 2 internal ribs that help reduce friction between the cartridge and magazine body and provide a smooth transition from a double stack to single feed at the top of the magazine.
From testing, MDT has established that these magazines will work with the following calibers:
Additionally, through testing, MDT has found that these magazines do not work out of the box with three lug actions. We have found you can make them work with some tweaking of the feed lips.

They have a coating (maybe teflon) that keeps the brass from getting scratches from the feed lips. Also while it is aics pattern this mag stacks the cartridges wider so the mag is about 3/4 of an inch shorter then other aics pattern mags. Fed my 6.5 cm fine without adjusting feed lips. Only fired about 30 rounds through it so I don't know how long it will hold up.
I have both a 10 round and now a 5 round MDT short action magazine and there is a lot to love. The over design and manufacturing of these mags is top quality. My proof research elevation came with the 10 round magazine and for competition I can see it being useful but I ordered the 5 round for hunting. With 6.5 prc I can load 4 rounds in without issue and the magazine feeds as expected. I have noticed with 6.5 prc that if the round at the top the mag is not aligned perfectly you may have a feed error with some ammunition. I am willing to consider some kind of user error as I have only had the magazine a week. But as I am planning to hunt I want to be sure it feeds right so I don’t run into issues in the field. Will most likely buy more of these to throw in the rifle case. I only wish there was also a polymer 6.5prc mag from MDT to lighten the load even more. Thanks red hawk for the great service
