An 8x zoom in a 12-inch scope with ZeroStop and calibrated reticle
The Nightforce NX8 2.5-20x50 F2 is a second focal plane riflescope for hunting and precision shooting. At 20x you reach out to distant targets with clarity; at 2.5x you stay comfortable with close or moving shots. That range in one scope, with ED optical glass giving clarity at every step, covers most hunting and competition situations. The MOAR-CF2 reticle is marked with 1 MOA subtensions calibrated at 20x for accurate holds and dialing. ZeroStop, DigIllum illumination and side parallax are standard, all packed into just 12.1 inches and 28.6 ounces.
2.5-20x in 12.1 inches
An 8x zoom over a 50 mm objective, delivering exit pupils from 5.9 mm at 2.5x down to 2.5 mm at 20x and a field of view from 36.7 ft to 6.1 ft at 100 yards. The compact length keeps the scope from dominating rifle balance.
MOAR-CF2 with calibrated reticle
A floating centre dot with alternating 1 MOA subtensions and major labels every 5 MOA. The reticle is calibrated at 20x magnification for accurate holds and elevation dials without re-calculating at your primary shooting power.
Second focal plane
The reticle keeps the same apparent size as you change power, so its MOA marks read true only at the magnification they are calibrated for, 20x on the MOAR-CF2. At other powers the marks do not match their labels; dial instead.
ZeroStop and DigIllum
Dial up to a distance and return to a hard mechanical zero. Illumination is digital instead of a rheostat, so the low settings are genuinely low for dawn, dusk and night use.
Side parallax from 11 yards to infinity
Set parallax on the side turret rather than through the eyepiece, freeing the focus ring for quick adjustment between near and distant targets.

What does second focal plane mean for the MOAR-CF2 reticle?
The MOAR-CF2 reticle is calibrated at 20x magnification. At 20x, the 1 MOA marks read true and you can hold for wind or dial elevation directly. At other powers, the marks do not match their labels because the reticle's apparent size changes with magnification while the target does not. At lower powers you will overshoot; at higher powers you will undershoot if you hold on the marks. At other powers, dial instead of holding on the subtensions.
Should I choose MOAR-CF2 or MIL-CF2 reticle?
Choose MOAR-CF2 if you dial elevation in Minutes of Angle (MOA) and hold for wind. Choose MIL-CF2 if you dial and hold in milliradians. Both are calibrated at 20x and carry a floating centre dot. MOAR-CF2 has 1 MOA subtensions with major labels every 5 MOA. MIL-CF2 has subtensions in 0.1 MRAD with major labels at different intervals. Pick the one that matches your ballistic solver or your load data.
What is DigIllum illumination?
DigIllum is Nightforce's digital illumination system. Unlike a rheostat (brightness dial) which steps through a small number of settings, DigIllum has many brightness levels. The low settings are genuinely low, making the reticle visible at dawn, dusk, and night without blooming into the field of view the way a tube-based system can.
