Overview
Carbon fiber barrel blank that cuts weight without changing the steel
This Snowy Mountain .243 (6mm) barrel blank pairs a 416R stainless steel core with a carbon fiber wrap for a lighter mountain or long-range rifle. It ships unfinished in the SMR Sendero contour with a 1:7.5 twist, with the muzzle already threaded 5/8-24, ready for a professional gunsmith to chamber and fit.
Up to 62% lighter than steel
The 416R stainless steel core is wrapped in a proprietary carbon fiber layer, cutting weight up to 62% against a comparable steel barrel of the same contour.
Twice hand lapped, cryo treated
Each core is hand lapped twice and stress relieved twice, then cryogenically treated before the carbon fiber wrap goes on.
SMR Sendero contour, 1.20 in shank
Every length ships in the SMR Sendero contour with a 1.20 inch shank diameter.
1:7.5 twist, four lengths
This .243 (6mm) blank ships in a 1:7.5 twist and 20, 22, 24, or 26 inch finished lengths.
