Snowy Mountain Rifles
Overview
Snowy Mountain Rifles carbon fiber barrel blanks are unfinished blanks with a precision-machined 416R stainless steel core wrapped in carbon fiber. The .264 (6.5mm) bore comes in 1:8 twist with the SMR Sendero contour, offered in four finished lengths: 20, 22, 24 and 26 inches. Our record says each blank comes with a threaded 5/8-24 crown and thread protector and needs chambering and fitting by your gunsmith.
The foundation is precision-machined 416R stainless steel, hand-lapped twice, double stress relieved and cryogenically treated for dimensional stability.
Wrapped in SMR's proprietary blend of ultra stiff carbon fibers, per our record.
SMR says its carbon barrels are up to 62 percent lighter than steel barrels of comparable contour.
All SMR carbon Precision Rifle Barrels are made in the Sendero contour, per our record.
