SMR Flex System DBM kit, M5 inlet: all aluminum detachable magazine assembly, 5.4 oz
The Snowy Mountain Rifles Flex System uses one M5 configured bottom metal body with proprietary cuts and a tensioning system so a rifle can change from hinged floor plate to magazine fed and back. This kit is the detachable magazine assembly version: all aluminum, 5.4 oz per SMR, black anodized, in short or long action with a standard or magnum magazine. It uses Remington 700 factory BDL action screws.

SMR calls it the only all aluminum ultra lightweight magazine system, at 5.4 oz.
Tensioning system
A tensioning system holds the all aluminum magazine snugly in the M5 configured body, per SMR.
Detachable magazine version
This version of the Flex System is set up as a detachable magazine assembly. Removing the magazine and tensioner and attaching the lid converts the same body back to a hinged floor plate; the lid is the Complete Kit.
Short or long action, standard or magnum
Select short or long action, and a standard magazine (.308 or 30-06) or magnum magazine (300 WSM or 300 WM).
Remington 700 BDL action screws
Uses Remington 700 factory BDL action screws.

Which magazine do I choose?
SMR lists a standard magazine for .308 or 30-06 and a magnum magazine for 300 WSM or 300 WM, in short or long action.
Can it go back to a hinged floor plate?
SMR says removing the magazine and tensioner and attaching the lid converts the same body back to a hinged floor plate. The lid comes with the Complete Kit, not this DBM kit.
