Zero creep trigger for Rem 700 clones, <8 oz to 40 oz, improved durability
The TriggerTech Rough Diamond is a single stage trigger for Remington 700 clone actions, adjustable from under 8 oz to 40 oz with a zero creep break. It has no bolt release, so it is sold for Rem 700 clones that carry the release on the receiver, and it will not work on a factory Remington 700. This listing is available in both right and left hand in PVD black with a Flat or Pro Curved lever.
Under 8 oz to 40 oz, in clicks
Adjusted from an external set screw on the bottom of the housing with a supplied 5/64" Allen wrench. Clockwise adds weight. It ships set near the middle of the range. Keep at least three clicks engaged so the screw will not fall out, and run at or above the factory setting until you have some time on the trigger.
Zero creep, under .010" overtravel
Zero Creep Technology does not rely on coating, polishing or lubricating the engagement surfaces. The pull stays consistent shot to shot and after thousands of rounds because the trigger break occurs in mechanical precision rather than surface finish.
Made for clone actions, no bolt release
The housing carries no bolt release, so it drops into a clone action with a receiver-mounted release. It will not work on a factory Remington 700. The Rough Diamond is engineered for improved compatibility across a wider range of action manufacturers than the Diamond, including those that cock on close.
Two levers, one finish
Flat Straight has a small locator nub and edges that are neither round nor sharp; moving your finger changes the effective pull. Pro Curved keeps the curved profile but adds a flat face for feedback on a straight-back pull. Every Rough Diamond is PVD black.
7075 housing, 440C internals
The housing is anodized 7075 aluminum and the key components are hardened 440C stainless steel. PVD black is a physical vapor deposition coating applied to the external stainless parts, which gives them durability against handling and salt environments.
Lifetime warranty

Read this before ordering. The Rough Diamond has no bolt release and will not work on a factory Remington 700 action. It is sold for Rem 700 clone actions that carry their own bolt release on the receiver. The safety from your existing trigger does not transfer. Pull weights are approximate and vary between actions; a heavier than factory firing pin spring can push the pull above 40 oz.

Fitting it and the fine print
Will this fit a factory Remington 700?
No. On a factory Remington 700 the bolt release lever lives on the trigger and works the bolt catch in the receiver; the Rough Diamond has no bolt release. TriggerTech offers it for Remington 700 clone actions that carry their own release on the receiver. If you have a factory Remington 700, the TriggerTech Special (ordered With Bolt Release) is the one to buy instead.
Which lever do I order?

Pro Curved keeps the curved profile but adds a flat face for feedback on a straight-back pull; TriggerTech developed this lever from Team Surgeon feedback for competition shooting. All Rough Diamonds are PVD black, and the trigger mechanism underneath is the same in both levers.
How do I adjust the pull weight?
With the rifle unloaded, put the supplied 5/64" Allen wrench into the set screw on the bottom of the trigger. Clockwise increases pull weight, counter-clockwise reduces it, in clicks of approximately 1 oz per click. Keep at least three clicks engaged so the screw cannot fall out, and repeat the safety checks in the manual before firing live ammunition. TriggerTech recommends running the trigger at or above the factory setting until you have some time on it. Pull weights vary between actions because firing pin spring weight affects the overall pull; a heavier than factory firing pin spring will push the range up.
What is the difference between the Rough Diamond and the Diamond?
The Rough Diamond starts at under 8 oz and tops out at 40 oz, compared to the Diamond's under 4 oz to 32 oz. The Rough Diamond is engineered for improved compatibility across a wider range of action manufacturers, including those that cock on close, while the original Diamond is optimized for high-precision competition rigs with properly timed actions. Both use the same Zero Creep Technology and the same zero-creep feel. The Rough Diamond's design also enables a more efficient manufacturing process, which is why TriggerTech can offer it at a lower price point than the Diamond.
