Overview

Muzzle brake with an upward port to control rise and recoil

The Hawkins Precision Updraft is a five-port self-timing muzzle brake for 6.5 mm and .30 caliber rifles. The first port is angled upward to reduce muzzle rise, while four traditional-style ports reduce rearward felt recoil. It is machined from 17-4 stainless steel with a black nitride finish, and a locking collar and hex opening on the end make installation and removal straightforward.

Five-port design

One port is cut and angled upward to direct muzzle blast and reduce muzzle rise. Four traditional ports reduce rearward felt recoil, so the rifle settles back on target faster between shots.

Self-timing locking collar

The locking collar allows the brake to index on the barrel threads and stay indexed. No shims needed.

Hex opening for installation

A 3/8 inch hex opening in the end of the brake lets you use an Allen key or socket on a torque wrench to install and remove it.

17-4 stainless, black nitride finish

Built from 17-4 stainless steel with a black nitride finish for corrosion resistance and durability.

Two outside diameter options

Available in 1.0 inch and 1.2 inch outside diameter to fit your rifle profile and handguard clearance.

Each variant is caliber-specific. Check your barrel marking or ammunition to be sure.

Does my barrel have 5/8-24 threads?

This brake fits only 5/8-24 TPI threads. If your barrel is already threaded for a muzzle device, it is likely 5/8-24. Check the thread pitch before ordering if you are not certain. A gunsmith can verify the pitch with a thread gauge.
